What makes you different from other trainers?
I am a seasoned educator & trainer. I am well versed in curriculum design & teaching. Also, I am able to modify how material is presented based on the specific needs of the participants. With me you get quality instruction, real world knowledge, & skills your family can use everyday.
I am upfront with my pricing. There are no hidden fees and there are no surprises on how much it will cost to work with me.
It is difficult for me to see how many dogs are disposed of when they become a burden. When you take a sentient being into a family system, you are responsible for the well being of that new member and the entire system. All too often dogs are viewed as disposable property. I continue to train dogs with the goal of maintaining the family unit.

How long have you been training?
I been training since 2003. My training has included single dogs, multiple dogs at people’s homes, and group classes. I have trained from my own home, in others’ homes, at a veterinary clinic, a groom salon, and for both PetSmart and Petco.

What training method do you use?
I use various training methods. The method used is entirely dependent on the dog’s unique characteristics and the family’s unique qualities. Dogs are not robots and where many trainers fail is when they think one method works for all dogs.
All of this being said, I do not endorse, and will not use any physical punishment training method. There are ALWAYS methods that can be used which do not require physical pain to the dog.

How many dogs have you trained?
I have worked with thousands of dogs. Many years I worked with over 400 dogs per year.
It is important to note that I train families, not dogs, per se. This is another area where many trainers fail. It’s about more than a dog’s behavior. It’s about understanding the family system, understanding canines, and understanding the bond between our dogs and ourselves.

What is the most important thing people need to know about you as a dog trainer?
I go into any training situation with a plan, knowing that the plan will be modified based on the unique characteristics of the situation. The unique characteristics include the situation, the dog, any other dogs, the family members present, and any other people present.

Why did you start training dogs?
I started training dogs because I needed to supplement my income. I quickly became hooked when I saw how training families really strengthened the entire family system. I was classically trained as a sociologist so entire social systems have always been of interest to me.
